The Knights of Columbus is the largest Catholic men’s fraternal organization in the world. Founded in 1882 by Blessed Father Michael J. McGivney, the Knights of Columbus was initially a mutual benefit society for practicing male Catholics. The organization provided relief to widows and orphaned children, soldiers and their families during wartime, and fought anti-Catholic and racial prejudice.
The order has evolved into an organization that advocates for Catholic causes and provides a range of philanthropic and support services to Catholic institutions worldwide. The Knights of Columbus is also one of the world’s largest insurance companies. The order helps families attain economic security and stability through its life insurance, annuity, and long-term care programs.
Today’s Knights organize and participate in many charitable, religious, educational, and social welfare endeavors as well as provide social and intellectual fellowship. By joining the Knights, your contribution is amplified by the organization and we, together, can do great things in our church, community and worldwide.
The Knights are actively looking for new members and new ways to serve in Christ’s name. Please join us as we strive to live our Faith in Action by supporting our priests, our parish families, and our community and by building a Culture of Life. If you wish to join or learn more about the Knights of Columbus, please email Grand Knight Bob Bilodeau with any questions.
