Engaged Encounter
Every couple preparing for marriage at Immaculate Conception is asked to participate in one of two experiences in addition to the parish preparation program. One is the Engagned Encounter. The other is the Engaged Couples Seminar. While both are similar in their content, they are presented in two distinct formats. Each couple is asked to select the format that best suits their personal needs and available resources and time.
What is Engaged Encounter?
The NH Catholic Engaged Encounter weekend is provided for couples planning a marriage. It is a national ministry of married couples and priests who volunteer their time and talents to support new marriages.
Engaged Encounter weekends provide a quiet atmostphere for couples, free from tensions, pressures and interuptions. It is a weekend designed to give couples planning a marriage an opportunity to discuss honestly and intensively about their prospective lives together. Couples are encouraged to discuss their desires, ambitions, goals and attitudes about time, sex, money, children and families; as well as their role in the church and society.
