“The Steubenville East Conference this year changed my life. When it first started I felt like I didn't really belong. All of the other teens were so involved in their faith and I wanted to be, but there was something missing. I went through Friday and Saturday and although the speakers and sessions were great there still felt like a part was missing. However when Adoration came on Saturday night it completely changed me. When the Monstrance was walked around the whole arena and I came within feet of Jesus Christ himself it was such an inspirational and amazing feeling that I broke into tears. From that night on I was able to make sure my sins do not define me and I can truly be involved in my faith. Being with over 3,000 teens who are your brothers and sisters and witnessing Jesus right before you, will change you.”
“This has been my second year being a chaperone at Steubenville and I have been blessed to be able to go these last two years. To be able to see not only the teens from ICC but from all over New England experience Christ is amazing. To have almost 3000 teens in one place all excited about their religion is awe inspiring. I can say first hand from my experiences that my faith is stronger and I am sure it has done the same for the teens of ICC who have attended. I have seen first-hand all this conference can do for the teens who go.”
“It was very moving for me. I was glad to have this experience and I wish others will have this great experience. It was an amazing time and I hope I am able to do it again. Thank you”
“The weekend at Steubenville marks the beginning of a lifelong relationship with a Man, a Father, and a Ghost I had never dreamed I would know. I am already so much more joyful than I was before this weekend.”
"I have done many CCD camps and retreats throughout my young adult life but nothing compares to Steubenville East. I went into it expecting another same old retreat that my mom forced me to go to but it was truly anything but that. My experience at Steubenville East was profoundly life changing and restored my faith with God. During the weekend, we praised and worshiped the Lord while also having fun and joking around with each other. Don't say no to letting God be the center of your life and go to Steubenville East”
"It was a life changing weekend and everyone should have a chance to experience it”
"I thought that the experience was enlightening in a way that it strengthened my relationship to the church and God in a new and profound way. The combination of prayer, speeches, and music was a good way to help it all fit together."
Pictured are the 19 teens from Immaculate Conception who recently attended the Steubenville East Conference in Lowell, MA from July 15-17, 2016. Shown is the entire group including Father Ray, Deacon Chris, Plugged-In Youth Minister, chaperones and Jon Niven's band members who performed all weekend.
Evangelistic in nature, these weekend conferences are both a great “introduction” to the Gospel message for new or younger teens, while offering deep and moving experiences of prayer and fellowship for teens seeking a deeper relationship with Christ. This amazing weekend was filled with engaging liturgies, inspiring music, challenging talks and overwhelming joy.
A HUGE thank you to our own Knights of Columbus, the H3O Women’s Group and all of the generous parishioners who made it financially possible for these teens to experience a deep renewal and encounter with the love of Christ.
